As of June 15, 2020, Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center is testing all blood donations for the COVID-19 antibody. This test is authorized by the FDA for detecting the presence of antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 and is not intended for diagnosis of COVID-19.
If you are not feeling well or have been exposed to COVID-19 within the last 14 days, we ask you to please do not try to donate.
The COVID-19 antibody test does not test for the presence of the virus that causes COVID-19. The antibody test looks to see if the blood contains antibodies to the virus. The test does not check for the presence of an active COVID-19 infection.
